Big Tree Distillery is the result of a gin-loving husband and wife team who love good gin so much they decided to make their own. Located in Newham, Macedon Ranges, Victoria, Australia.
These gorgeous bottles feature local artist Sarah Gabriel‘s stunning work. I love that after the gin has gone, the labels peel off to reveal the full artwork underneath so you can re-use the beautiful bottles. It is weird to want the gin finished and not finished at the same time as I have plans for these bottles.
I was a little disappointed that I got the same bottle twice as a different one was used on the website for the cumquat gin and I thought I would be getting that one but at the end of the day- it is the gin that really counts.
The Elegant Dry Gin is silky smooth with Juniper and citrus notes. I really enjoyed this with Mediterranean tonic and a slice of fresh orange or dehydrated grapefruit. I also thought it went well with a salted grapefruit mixer which really brought out the citrus flavours. ABV 42%. 700ml bottle is $85 AUD.
The Cumquat Infused Seasonal Gin is bursting with citrus flavour. I’m sure it will bring sunshine to the gloomiest of days. It is just a happy gin to drink and if you like citrus flavours, it will bring a smile to your face. I enjoyed this with Mediterranean tonic for a G & T but I really think it shines in a Breakfast Martini. A lazy weekend brunch with a martini and marmalade on toast is truly special. ABV 42%. 700ml bottle, $89 AUD
