The Home of KURO Gin
Our Signature Gin KURO has won a number of accolades including a Gold Outstanding at the IWSC.
Our bottle design is another point of difference with a minimalist, dark design that captures the essence of the Japanese Alps. Of course the gin inside is equally good and has long and lingering alpine finish.
Our journey has been somewhat ‘back to front’ compared to most. Initially launching in 2017 as a contract distilled gin brand we have been on a journey to build and launch our distillery in 2020 where we now not only make and bottle our gin but we do all of the branding and design of our packaging through our in-house design studio.
I was lucky enough to win a bottle of the Kuro Signature Gin in a giveaway on Instagram, and I was immediately drawn to the bottle. The bottle design is exquisite, black, sleek and thewatermak of the japanese logo is lovely. The gin itself is delicious, piney, and fresh yet aromatic. I’m not the best at explaining flavours but this has botanicals such as Silver Birch, Bamboo, and spruce. I made a beautiful cocktail on a live tastig with the distiller called the Shiro Lady and it is amazing. This gin is a great gin as a long drink with a premium tonic; it would be good with Ginger ale, and it is an amazing cocktail Gin too. Its no wonder they have won lots of awards for this gin.
