At the Crafty Distillery, they have a plan. Using new technology, their own grain spirit and locally sourced ingredients they want to create tasty, wallet-pleasing spirits for everyone who likes a tipple. They are a small committed team and they believe if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly.
They don’t want to just cater for the gin-enthusiasts, vodka connoisseurs or whisky buffs. Nope. They want to create unique craft spirits for you, her, and even him over there!
Further information about this business and the products they sell will be available soon.
If you have tasted their gins before why not leave a review below?
At the beginning of the year, I bought both of their craft distillery gin and their distilled cocktail. I bought this on offer for £36 + 6 cans of Franklin and Son’s tonics with the Hills and Harbour Gin. The Smokey & Citrus Cocktail was £33 + 6 cans of Franklin and Sons plus free delivery on both. They were packaged really well and included a detailed card of different serves for both of them. The boxes were both designed for each of their boxes and I was very impressed with their attention to detail. They also arrived incredibly quickly!
The smokey & citrus distilled cocktail
serve: 50ml smokey & citrus distilled cocktail 200ml Franklin & sons tonic water Plenty of ice served with juniper berries and a slice of orange (wish I had some pineapple too!).
It is claimed to be the World’s first distilled cocktail. Beautiful smooth gin made with smoked pineapple and burnt oranges. A wonderful sweetness to this and is also great served on its own. So moorish, you just want to keep having more!
Hills & Harbour Gin
Served: 50ml Hills and Harbour Gin, 150ml London Essence grapefruit & Rosemary tonic, plenty of ice and garnished with orange slices a rosemary sprig. I would’ve used grapefruit and a pine sprig if I had them but I didn’t.
This is a fantastic gin and they have a great range. It is a London Dry style with 9 classic botanicals distilled with 2 locally foraged botanicals – Noble Fir from the Galloway Forest and Bladderwrack Seaweed foraged from the shores of the Solway Firth. It is a sweet gin juniper led with piney notes of the forest fir and citrusy spice. It is a smooth gin with that delicate sweet taste. I love their use of the local resources around them and I look forward to getting a bottle again in the future.
If you get a chance to visit, it looks like a beautiful place with gorgeous surroundings. If I lived closer, I would certainly visit there on a weekend.
