Swedish Gin from Lake Boren
A small-batch dill flavoured Gin, crafted by two master distillers in Borensberg, a small town in Sweden. Janne and Anders set out to create a high quality, smooth Gin that excelled in balance and flavour, with just a handful of unconventional botanicals that deliver its unique taste.
Led with Fresh Swedish Dill, Jüst comprises of Juniper berries from the Austrian Alps, paradise grain from West Africa, sweet and bitter almond from the Mediterranean and Licorice Root from Ceylon.
I was fortunate to do a cocktail series with this gin and I cannot emphasise enough just how versatile it is. Often people will look over this gin because of a stigma around the dill herb itself – but there is so much that can be done with this gin. I love herbal-centred gins so this was right up my street, it begins with juniper which then gives way to citrus, spiced notes come through with the dill rounding it out into a herbal and remarkably smooth finish perhaps due to the almonds used in distillation. I love their branding and emphasis on sustainability, the customer service was incredible and they are very approachable. Cannot speak highly enough of this gin or the wonderful team behind it.
