Giniversity in the heart of the gorgeous Margaret River
5.0.0

What a fabulous distillery to visit. It is in the beautiful Margaret River, a favourite place of mine for a quick getaway to relax and refresh. The distillery is in amongst the trees backing onto their Riverglen Chalets. My husband and I have stayed here by ourselves and with family and both stays were perfect. It is a fabulous place if you want to self-cater (buy the fabulous local produce and goodies) in comfortable accommodation that makes you feel like you are staying in the bush but you are just a hop, skip and jump from the main street in Margaret River town. My favourite part about staying here is being able to stop in for a gin at Giniversity in the afternoon and no one has to be the designated driver! The pizzas are amazing and the staff are attentive and friendly. In summer or on a sunny winter’s day, it is lovely to sit outside, there is a grassy area, bridge and bushland for children to play. You can keep an eye on them while you sip on a G&T, cocktail or try one of their amazing gin flights- especially if it is your first introduction to Giniversity gins and you want to try them all and believe me- you do. Native is my favourite, served with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic. The barrel aged I love in a cocktail I call the Giniversity Flip- cream, homemade rosemary syrup, an egg and freshly grated nutmeg – creamy and delicious with a lot of depth from the barrel aged gin. The Pink Rose gin is my favourite pink gin with it’s delicate floral flavours. The only one I am not overly keen on is the hemp gin-I think it is an acquired taste and not for me but it is good to try different things. Giniversity uses many native Australian botanicals in their gins like quandong, emu plum, Geraldton wax and wild meen.
Gins vary from 40-49ABV 500ml bottles $60-$66 AUD
