This gin is a go-to gin for us because it can be used for so many things! It is made with 18 botanicals – lime tree blossoms being one of them and the one that the company says gives the gin its unique taste. When we smell the gin, it smells very botanical in a good way! And when taking a sip ned it has a softness to it, but you can really taste botanicals! It’s a nice, aromatic taste with a lot of depth. The juniper taste is strong, but not overwhelming. There are also notes from orange and cardamom, but again, not overwhelming notes. All the botanicals play very well together and the result is a gin that we believe every true ginlover should own!
We have both tried drinking it neat, with ice, and with different tonics and different garnishes, and every time the result is the same: It is a very likeable gin! It holds 41% and contains 500 ml. The bottle itself is nice, but what makes it even nicer is the wooden cork with lime tree flowers.
Siegfried gin costs around DKK 300 which is very reasonable for a gin of this level.
