Wild Distillery is situated on the Nordic island Bornholm, home to our founder and some of the best ingredients the Nordics have to offer. The unique combination of sun, salt water, rocky shores and sandy soil, gives juniper the best preconditions to mature and develop its character and style. We have gained a special permission by The Danish Nature Agency to handpick wild botanicals in the coastal terroir of Bornholm.
Our distillery is open for all gin lovers. Every Thursday we have masterclasses where we present our collection of gin. To push you out of the comfort zone, we have developed a range of gin variants that differ a bit from what you’ll find in the local store. Head over to our recipes to check out how to mix the perfect gin.
Wild Destillery is found on the small, Danish island Bornholm. We have all visited it and the nature there is so beautiful and wild – so for that reason alone we felt compelled to buy this gin. And luckily we were not disappointed! When we smelled the gin neat it has a strong juniper smell – but after a few seconds you can clearly smell the mint. Tasting it neat is has a very clean juniper taste with the mint taste slowly sneaking up on you and giving it a very fresh taste. We mixed it with Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic as recommended by the distillery. And that gave us a really lovely and fresh gin & tonic, with both sweet and fresh notes. The bottle is really beautiful. The cap has been given a coat of wax in the same, mint green colour as the writing on the bottle. The bottle is see-through and looks very exclusive. The cap underneath the wax is made of thick aluminium, which also adds to the exclusive look and feel. The gin is very “Danish” in it’s presentation – clean and elegant. The price for 700 ml. is DKK 400/GBP 49,70 and it is worth it, both because it is organic, very exclusive and has an amazing taste. It was bought by Wild Destillery on Bornholm and the service was really amazing! We were even given 4 glasses for free with the gin!
