Withers Gin is founded by gin enthusiast Sarah Withers, and is a family owned business.
The business is based in Derby but distilled at Bond Street Distillery in Leicester, United Kingdom.
G1 is the first gin from Withers Gin, however, there are both recipes and exclusive bottle designs queued for a comprehensive ’G’ Collection. Sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know about any exciting developments!
Our gin recipes are exclusive to Withers Gin and have been developed over a number of years with guidance from Head Distiller, Ed Gibson of The Bond Street Distillery (formerly Head Distiller at Burleighs/45 West). Ed is an exceptional advisor and has been a powerful influencing force in the creation of G1 as well as the key reason that Sarah didn’t inadvertently blow up the garage during the development process!
I recently purchased a tasting box from Withers Gin and was lucky enough to try the original gin and two new expressions that are not yet launched. The tasting evening was accompanied by Sarah (the Owner) talking about her Gin and why she produces them. Withers Gin is a gin that supports Cancer charities that are close to Sarahs heart due to her Mum and Dad passing of Cancer. The Heartsease flower is very precious to Sarah, as her mum used to paint them. The design on the back of the G1 bottle is a copy of the actual picture that her mum drew and is a wonderful addition to the bottle. Their inaugural original Gin is Withers G1 Heartsease London Dry Gin, and wow this is such a beautiful Gin. Smooth, delicate yet juniper forward and Grapefruit gives it a little zing but its smooth and I think that he Heartsease Flower does that. The two new expressions are G-Shot and G-Force. G-Force is a nod to her dad who was a pilot for the Navy and is a Navy gin that is strong, bold and flavoursome, although not quite to my taste. When ths comes out this wil be very popular and the bottle design will have a photo of her dad doing a flyby for a Royal Engagement. My absolte favourite of the 3 is the G-Shot – this is Heartsease & Blackberry Gin iqueur but it is strong for a liqueur at 32.7%. This is fruity and delicious and the Blackberry and Heartsease sit so well together. I cannot wait for this to be released, I will be buying a bottle on the day its launched. A brilliant brand, and one to support just for the prevenence and the family ties. The G1 Gin is £39.95 direct from their website.
